Tahoe Triple Marathon - October 2022 - Movement For Meditation

Lasting three days, covering over 78 miles of variable terrain and spanning 2 different states at elevations of up to 7,000 feet, this triple-marathon is the next-level challenge in a journey of building physical strength, cultivating self-alignment and self-discipline through running.

  • Due to the high elevation of this course, I will be arriving 10 days before the race to train and acclimate my body to the environment. This decision did not come lightly, as I must also forego my daily work and income during this time period.

Throughout this journey of transformation, I have learned to embrace the fears felt in resistance in order to dissolve any paths of self-limitation, such as believing I would not be strong enough, or quitting because I could not afford to take the time away from my work, or being afraid to do it alone.

And while this process can be scary, in it there is also freedom: I discovered my strength; I found I have beautiful friends and family who believe in and support me; ultimately, I cultivated the faith to believe in myself. In living to my fullest authenticity, I have opened my eyes to the staggering potential WE ALL posses in purpose.

That is why, to achieve up until this point, in itself, is already enough. Because the transformation, realizations, and cultivation that I have gained are more than I ever set out for, and have carved a path to authentic happiness, newfound strength, and inner peace: a freedom that I only wish to inspire and help others to achieve as well.

I write this as a THANK YOU, for every single way YOU ALL have contributed, in thought, in conversations, on walks, runs, hikes, phone calls, inspirations, every bit helps and MATTERS to me! For anyone who is interested or able to help with any expense-related portions of this journey I am including a formal letter below.

A year ago, I never thought I would be preparing to run over 78 miles in 3 days! This is now where I put into practice, the faith, that this journey is not ending but just getting started. Thank you for being a part of it, thank you for your support!

    Hello,

My name is Jesse Rose Sommerville-West.

I want to invite you to help make a difference by inspiring journeys of self-alignment, self-discipline, and inner peace through all forms of movement.

Movement, in the quiet transit of a hiker, in the powerful hoofbeats of equestrian training, the steady cadence of a runner's footsteps, the fluidity of the swimmer, the gracefulness of the dancer, in the flow of creativity from an author’s mind to fingertips: in every form of movement there is a path to quiet, calm, and inner peace.

I am living my most authentic life of freedom from the traps of fear and self-limitation. In this journey of self-discovery, strengthening, and alignment, I aim to inspire others to join and share in their own paths to balance, strength, and peace through all aspects of motion.

Movement For Meditation aims to stimulate, inspire, encourage, foster, cultivate: a better tomorrow starts today, and starts within each individual. Movement For Meditation shares journeys in discovery of stillness and calm through movement, and cultivates awareness in supporting different charities during various events.

In October 2022, I will be participating in a 3-day Marathon: The Tahoe Triple Marathon circumnavigates 78.6 miles, spanning 2 different states, variable terrain and up to 7,000 feet in elevation. Each day, I will run a full marathon. In fundraising for this event, to help with travel and supply expenses, I will also be contributing proceeds to 3 local charities that have had a positive influence in my life. Every little bit helps!

(Please see below for more details to donate directly to each organization)

I started Marathon running 2 years ago as a way to return to myself by cultivating awareness, alignment and strength to my mind, body and spirit through movement. I quickly found marathon training as a way to stabilize strength within myself, a way to bring order in the chaos of life's upheavals, and to believe in myself by accomplishing something far beyond what I thought was capable.

Please join me on this path to inspire others through Movement For Meditation: encouraging strength, awareness, well-being, and self-empowerment through discipline, dedication, and motivation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for your contributions in support of my participation in the Tahoe Triple Marathon, October 2022.
